Deciding which preschool is the best fit for your family is a personal and important decision. We are thrilled that you are considering Wash Park Early Learning Center for your family. If you haven’t already, please read our About Us section. As much as we want you to understand our philosophy and model, we appreciate every opportunity to get to know you and your family as well!

WPELC Tour: Please sign up for a school tour where you can see our staff and students in action, get a feel for our space and philosophy, and ask questions. You’ll also get more information about what it means to be a member of our cooperative. If sessions are full or don’t match your availability, we will do our best to add more dates. Please feel free to reach out if this is the case.
WPELC Open House: During the session, you will get the opportunity to explore our classrooms and meet our amazing teachers, current parents, and Director. Our Director will give a brief presentation about our school’s approach to education and our cooperative community. You will also learn about the admissions process and have an opportunity to ask any questions.
Admissions Process

Our admissions process involves an annual “loose lottery” system in order to balance each class by age and gender as best as possible. Thus, we do not fill our classes on a first-come, first-serve basis. Should a spot become available, we fill that spot from an unranked wait pool using the same system. Enrollment preference is given in the following order:
- Current students
- Siblings of current students
- Children of staff
- Alumni (this includes past WPELC students and their siblings, or children of past WPELC students)
- New families
Wait Pool
Students not admitted during the lottery will be placed into our unranked wait pool. The wait pool is not carried over from year to year. Any family in the wait pool remains in the pool for the current school year, but they must reapply the following school year. Please note, the registration fee is a one-time-per-student fee paid upon initial application. We waive the registration fee for any application submitted in subsequent years.
