2023-2024 Family Commitment

As the parent(s)/guardian(s) of the above-named child, and in consideration for the acceptance of my child by Washington Park Early Learning Center (WPELC), a nonprofit parent cooperative preschool, I agree as follows:

1. I will pay May 2024 tuition by the due date outlined in my acceptance letter. The May 2024 tuition is used as a retainer fee and is non-refundable. If May 2024 tuition is not paid by this date, I understand that my child will be dropped from the roster and no longer have a place at WPELC.
2. I will pay September 2023 tuition and Activity Fee by the due date outlined in my acceptance letter. Both fees are non-refundable. If September 2023 tuition and Activity Fee are not paid by this date, I understand that my child will be dropped from the roster and no longer have a place at WPELC.
3. I will submit all health forms and other information for my child and for parents/guardians by the due date outlined in my acceptance letter. To protect the preschool license, I understand that if health forms (immunization forms & medical examination forms) are not submitted on time, my child will not be allowed to attend WPELC until the forms are submitted. I also understand that I must submit updated health and immunization forms annually based on the date on the record or my child will not be allowed to attend. This is not applicable for children enrolled in the Parent-Tot class.
4. I will pay the monthly tuition by the first day of each month. A seven-day grace period is allowed at the beginning of each month after which a $25 late fee is applied. If the tuition is in arrears by 30 days, my child will not be allowed to attend class until tuition is paid and may be dropped from enrollment.
5. I understand that this is a parent cooperative preschool, and I agree to volunteer my time and talents to benefit the school as follows:
   • I will be an active member of the Board or standing committee;
   • I will participate as a helping parent and provide snack on a rotating basis throughout the school year;
   • I will participate in all fundraising efforts or participate in the buy-out options; Note: Families only attending the Parent-Tot class are encouraged to participate in fundraising, but it is not mandatory.
   • I will complete cleaning as a helping parent and at the all school clean-up days;
   • I will attend the Spring & Fall General Meetings, and two parent/teacher conferences; and
   • I will notify the Administrative Assistant of any changes to my email, physical mailing address, or to my child’s emergency contact information so that the school can maintain current records.
6. I agree to abide by the policies contained in the WPELC Parent Handbook including the Bylaws and any other policies set by the WPELC Board of Directors because those policies impact WPELC students, teachers and neighbors.
7. I understand that if I decide to withdraw my child from WPELC, I will owe tuition for four weeks following my written notice of withdrawal, and I will owe fundraising obligations through the end of that four-week notice period.
8. I understand that WPELC will communicate with me primarily through email.
9. I understand that WPELC has a COVID-19 Addendum and that the COVID-19 Addendum is subject to change. I understand that an updated COVID-19 Addendum will be provided in August, and that I will need to sign an acknowledgment that I have read and understand the Addendum for my child to attend WPELC.
